It's been a weird couple of years, right? We had been talking about updating our bathrooms since we moved in 6 years ago, so when we finally decided to go for it... yeah, Covid.
Despite everything, Cheryl and Ellen at Advanced Home Improvement made it as pleasant as it possibly could be, from the initial design to the final product... along the way dealing with everything from supply and labor disruptions, to us kicking them out for a week while WE recovered from illness.
Good communication and attention to detail, and super-responsive when we were finishing up and were asking for the final touches to be adjusted. It ended up even nicer than I expected!
In the end, both our bathrooms are beautiful, functional, and just what we wanted. Thank you so much, Advanced Home Improvement!

We had Advanced Home Improvement remodel our bathroom. It has turned out just the way we wanted.
Their showroom has everything in it to pull together the results you want - tile, flooring, fixtures, cabinets, and paint colors. There is no need to run around trying find everything.
Sheryl was wonderful to work with, listening to what we wanted, making good suggestions, and pulling everything together so we could see what it would all look like before we got started.
Project Manager Ellen was great once we got started. She kept us informed of what and when to expect things happening and kept everything on track. She also had some additional ideas about paint colors and decorating that we incorporated.
The construction crew were professional, on time, cleaned up at the end of each day, and skilled at their trade.
We are very happy with the results.

We waited 20 years to do a remodel! Such a mistake. We started the design process in late 2019 and were ready to go. Then COVID hit - Ugh!!!! The team at ADVHI were fantastic communicating when they could start, when we should plan appliance delivery, etc. The project was a complete kitchen remodel, new master bath shower, flooring throughout the house, and new lighting. Since we had no option to leave the house the entire crew worked around us and our family schedule. Every member of the crew acted as if this was their home. The level of detail and care was amazing. Not once did I see or hear..."that's good enough." When issues came up (we had some unknown water damage) they had solutions that didn't blow the budget and just added to the remodel. They could have easily said...oh thats not in the contract. Not a chance! The just handled it. I can't thank them enough, we refer them to EVERYONE and are having them come back this week to do some additional electrical work. I can't for the life of me see how anyone could give a 1 star review. Thank you Sheryl, Mark, Ryan, and the entire crew for our beautiful new home!

Fantastic group to work with during a kitchen remodel which also included new flooring and lighting throughout and a bathroom shower remodel. They were extremely professional, very organized, punctual, and always communicated any updates or changes. Sheryl's crew were really friendly and helped with any questions we had. They were safety oriented during COVID and did temperature checks any time they entered the house and always wore masks. I was looking for a company to upgrade doors, baseboards, archways and drywall. Advanced Home Improvement was a great choice. Ellen came to my house and I described the work I wanted done. While she worked on the plan I checked ADVHI's references and they were all excellent. I was happy to sign the contract so the work could begin.
ADVHI took care of everything. When the materials arrived they started working every morning at 8am. They put down a protector for my hardwood floors before they started work. Every evening they cleaned up my house before leaving for the day.
The work went very smoothly I was very happy with their professionalism and the quality of their work. The final cost matched the original quote even though some tasks ran into some unexpected complications. ADVHI solved all the issues.
I will hire them again without hesitation.

12 weeks for a brand new kitchen - WOW!
From our first meetings with Sheryl, owner of Advanced Home Improvement to design my kitchen, to Alyssa, who helped with the selection of appliances, cabinets, and countertops, we could have not been more pleased. This is an experienced and knowledgeable group.
ADHI employs their own construction crew complete with a foreman, electrician, painter, and plumbing experts. Thank you to Marc, Ryan, Antonio and the entire crew. A stellar group - arriving promptly when they say they will be there, and leaving the area tidy each day. Adept at solving the unexpected issues that do pop up. One day there was an electrical issue discovered. While their day should have ended at 4pm, we were so impressed and grateful that they stayed until the problem was resolved at 7-8 pm.
Having never done a remodel before we were especially grateful for Ellen, the Project Manager, who coordinated everything from the work schedule for demo, floors, mudding, painting, obtained permits, the port-a-potty, and many things we never even knew about like clockwork. She is a good communicator and responds to questions in a timely manner.
ADHI will not begin your remodel until all your selected appliances, cabinets, countertops are in. In our case this resulted in quite a lag time from our projected start date due the supply chain delays - a result of COVID. While I admit to being anxious to get started, it was worth the wait as once the remodel started, it moved along very quickly.
The bottom line is that if you want a positive, satisfied experience with a remodel, I highly recommend ADHI. It's not often you hear of folks "missing the crew" once a project is complete, but we really do. We enjoyed watching this group of talented individuals transform our kitchen.

Sheryl was very helpful with the recommendations for everything from the floors, cabinets, and countertop, to the color of the handles and fixtures.
Ellen was also wonderful to work with, promptly responding to any questions we had, providing regular detailed updates on the remodel during the process, and making excellent suggestions to transform the kitchen in a great way we wouldn't have thought of on our own.
The crew did fantastic work in a short amount of time, making the remodel come out even better than I could have imagined. Huge thanks to them for their quality detailed work.

We live in San Carlos (despite the posted location on my account) and used Advanced Home Improvement in 2020 and 2021 to remodel both of our bathrooms. We appreciated Sheryl coming to our house and sitting down with us so we could interview them. She also educated us in the process. Reid, the foreman, was great and very knowledgeable. The designer, who is no longer there was great, and gave us several design recommendations and options which we took. We appreciated the design assistance! We also loved the attention to detail from the tile expert who meticulously made sure the hexagonal tile (and the others) all fit perfectly!
In the end, we ended up with two beautiful new bathrooms that we love! Thanks, ADHVI!

Great customer service from the moment you step foot in the door to the completion of the job. A warm welcome and friendly smile is there to greet you.I was impressed by the service and quality of their products. I came in for some paint for my house and I got more than I expected.
They showed up on time, worked with all safety protocols, were very professional and kept us informed of their work progress every day. They completed work on two bathroom remodel including floors, lighting and window treatment within a month of the start date.
They also kept us within budget when they could and advised us of items that were of the same quality but less costly.
We would recommend Sheryl and her team to anyone wanting any type of construction.

Once again, Sheryl and her team have completed an outside door we needed installed. Our side door needed to be completely removed including framing, painting, door lock. We have had full bathrooms remodeled, new fireplace/entry tile, new front door with sidelights, (beautiful) and everytime each job is done to perfection. This is the only contractor I will allow to touch my home. They always show up on time. Everyone is so nice and very professional in their field of home improvement. Superlative company! I cannot say enough good things about Advanced Home Improvement. After avoiding home repairs for 20 years due to lack of funds, ADVI did a complete first floor remodel that produced the kitchen, living room and powder room of my dreams. They were able to engineer the impossible-opening up the wall between my 50 year old, 70's style kitchen and living room, all the while considering my budget. Workers showed up daily, at times promised, and completed the job on schedule. I was able to live in my home throughout the job. Their one-stop remodeling showroom simplified the whole process. Sheryl is honest and delightful to work with. She offers instant text communication, carefully attending to any problems that arose. Caroline, ADVI designer, was marvelously helpful in choosing stylish and attractive flooring and fixtures. I was so happy with the work they did last winter that I invited them back to install new sliding glass doors this fall. Would not hesitate to recommend and use again.

This review is long overdue. A year ago Advanced Home Improvement began the process of gutting our outdated kitchen and replacing it with a beautiful, functional, welcoming kitchen that we love being in everyday. They also replaced the floors throughout our house. Sheryl and her team are professional, kind and just genuine humans. Each day that updated us on the progress, they were so PROMPT each morning and cleaned up each afternoon. From the prepping to every little detail, they were ORGANIZED and PROFESSIONAL. They surprised us by finishing ahead of schedule right before Christmas. We have since had them paint our exterior of our house, replace our front door and do some electrical work in other parts of the house. I cannot say enough about how wonderful each person in this company is. They genuinely care about their clients and never try to sell you on something you don't need or want. They are happy to share their expertise and knowledge and they really seem to just love what they do. We are so so thrilled with the results of each job they did and will continue to contact them for any of our home improvement needs.

I would second the Advanced Home Improvement recommendation. They made a large new window opening in my wall (which involved reinforcing the wall etc.) and installed a new window for me a few months ago. The owner and the workers were very professional and responsible and took care of everything. At one point there was a problem, but they really stand by their work, so they redid that part of the work until I was happy with the result. I would definitely use them again.

I have been meaning to renovate both my guest and master bathrooms in my loft for some time. Guest bathroom was a smaller scale job, but master needed a major overhaul. I’ve had mixed experiences with previous contractors and have been in a long-term procrastination mode. Coincidentally I found out that one of my colleagues had his entire kitchen renovated with ADVHI and he was very pleased with the work. He especially appreciated the fact that ADVHI was one stop shop with design service, materials, contractors under one roof and owner. I decided to give Sheryl a call and it was one of the best decisions I made.
From the very first meeting with Sheryl, there is a personalized focus which is consistent thru out the entire project. I was interested in a modern look and Caroline captured what I wanted in her proposals with varying budget levels. Of course, the options were functional, but were also stylish with attention to design aesthetics which I totally appreciate. ADVHI offers a wide range of materials, but you never feel overwhelmed. Best part is you don’t need to walk aimlessly in a giant warehouse picking out materials.
As for the actual workmanship, it is truly excellent. Reid and the crew were on time, respectful, of my space and accommodated my busy work schedule. You can see the attention to detail and skill in the quality of their work. My bathrooms are beautiful. Through it all, I felt a level of assurance and trust with Sheryl and team which is important to me. The entire process just works. I highly recommend Advanced Home Improvement!

I had Advanced Home Improvement remodel my main and master bathrooms in my townhome. It was convenient for me, as I am not fond of going to big box stores to select materials. I went to their showroom and selected/approved all materials for my bathrooms. I'm very pleased with both projects. I found Sheryl and her staff easy to work with on these projects. I also felt comfortable working with a woman contractor (not many in the business). All my concerns were addressed efficiently and expediently. We had a total house remodel done by ADVHI that started Aug 29, 2016 and ended Dec 9, 2016. We moved out of our house for 15 weeks, so they could gut the place. We were very pleased with the result. Sheryl (the owner of ADVHI) and her team were great to work with from start to finish. Sheryl and Stephanie (the project manager) were always quick to respond if we had any questions or requests. Whenever we stopped by to see the progress on the house, Marc or Reid always took the time to update us on things. I would recommend ADVHI.

Oh my gosh, where do I even begin? This company is wonderful, from start to finish I was so impressed with Advanced Home Improvement! We did a complete remodel of our master bathroom, and I literally could not be happier with the result. They helped me so much with my "vision" of what I wanted. The staff looked at what I wanted, then helped me through the process of choosing all the products we'd need. They have their own showroom with samples, so it was one stop shopping. (They're also totally open if you want to go out and find your own materials.). They had me involved in every step of the process, there were no surprises. When my husband decided that our kitchen and bathroom needed remodeling, we had no idea of any good contractors in the area. I still marvel at the way things turned out for us. We went to one of the local furniture stores looking for furniture and while there one of the decorators offered to help us. when we finished she gave me a list of three reputable contractors. Advanced Home Contractors was one of them. As I looked over the names I decided on Advance for an unknown reason. Believe me that was the best decision I could have made. Mrs. Kanzaki told me she had vacation plans and would be out of town for some time. It didn't matter to me and I told her that we would see her when she returned. On December 1, 2013 she came to our home to see the kitchen and bathroom. We were then given all the information and prices that would be required to perform the job that we wanted. Mrs. Kanzaki was very professional as well as competent and personable. She assured us that she only hires individuals that are honest and trustworthy and that she does not farm any portion of the job out to other companies. The prices we were quoted were reasonable. The jobs began on time and as scheduled. Her employees were professional and courteous. They did not waste time and were also careful to clean up each time they finished working. I found this to be very pleasant because I have had experiences with contractors that were sloppy about cleaning up after themselves. During the jobs my husband and I made a trip back east and we had no qualms about giving Mrs. Kanzaki our house key. Upon our return, we found our home in excellent shape along with much interior decorating that we had not expected. What a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend ADVANCED Home IMPROVEMENT and wish that the rating could be higher than five stars!

I had an 1928 kitchen in a Willow Glen home that needed to be updated–and a limited budget. ADVHI delivered a fabulous remodel that maintained the look and the integrity of the original house and merged it with new appliances and counters, etc. etc. The cabinet work was exceptional. The work that ADVHI produced was fabulous. Not only was the cost reasonable, the workmanship was incredible. The crew was polite, courteous and easy to work with. The job took about 3 weeks and each evening the job site was clean and neat.
